Since 2003, Caring Hands has cared for adults across Dundalk and Greater Baltimore. Our days are full of the things that make our centers feel like home: game shows and reminiscing groups, crafts and music, and the Sunday buffet everyone looks forward to.
What we didn't realize until this year was how many people outside our walls were looking for the same thing we try to give our clients every day: a good moment together.
It Started With Something We Already Do
Reminiscing is part of daily life here. Word puzzles, game shows and conversations about the old days are some of our favorite activities, because they help our clients connect, laugh and feel like themselves.
Families caring for someone with memory changes often want that too, but it can be hard to know where to start. So this May, we shared 28 fun trivia questions for seniors with dementia, with answers and a few gentle tips for keeping the conversation light and dignified.
Then It Took Off
Over the summer, it became the most-read page on our website by a wide margin. In 12 weeks, that one article brought in 8,876 clicks from Google, from people searching for simple ways to spend time with a parent or grandparent.
We didn't expect it. But it taught us something important. Many families find us long before they're ready to ask about adult day care. They're just looking for help getting through the week.
Why We Brought In a Partner
We're nurses, aides, drivers, cooks and activity staff. We're good at caring for people. Running a website is a different job. Over the years, ours had picked up broken pages, links that bounced visitors through several redirects, and pages that weren't secure. We also had no clear way to tell whether new visitors were families looking for care or readers who just wanted a trivia list.
So we decided to work with Therapy Marketers, a marketing team that works with care providers. Two things mattered most to us. First, we stayed in charge of what went on our website and how we described our care. Second, the people we serve stayed out of it completely. Our marketing is about our programs, never our clients' information.
What We Worked On Together
Instead of guessing what to write, we built a topic plan around the questions families actually search for, the kind we answer in our resources for families, and put it on a regular publishing schedule.
We fixed the technical problems: broken pages, redirect chains and insecure links. We also changed how we measure success, with separate reports for article readers and for families looking into care, so one popular article couldn't hide how the rest of the site was doing.
What the Numbers Showed
We compared 12 weeks from October to December 2025 with 12 weeks from May to August 2026:
- Clicks from Google grew from 437 to 10,084.
- Visits from search grew from 735 to 12,707.
- Between late May and late August, Google showed our pages in its AI-powered search results 43,067 times.
We want to be honest about where that growth came from. Most of it was the trivia article, and we're proud of that. Every one of those visits was someone looking for a kinder way to spend an afternoon with someone they love.
But the number we watch most closely is this one. The rest of our website, including our services, transportation and family resources, received 1,208 clicks on its own. Last fall, the whole site received 437.
If you'd like the full picture, including the Search Console and Analytics reports, Therapy Marketers put together a detailed case study of the project.
